The
OD Centre hosts the Community of Practice for organisational
development and change management practitioners in Ghana. The Community
of OD Practitioners is a membership forum for practitioners and
students of organisation development, change management and advisory
practice who live and/or work in Africa.
Membership is open to individuals and organisations. The overriding
intent of the Community of Practice is to reinforce and expand the
learning of its members through social participation with peers
and colleagues. By organising joint experiences for its members,
the Community of Practice would enable practitioners to make fresh
meanings; and thereby increasingly contextualise the meaning and
application of OD concepts as well as advisory practice principles
within the African environment.
The Community of Practice offers opportunities to work and learn
with international practitioners as a continuous process of connecting
local initiatives and experiences with international best practices
and realities. Through this contact process African practitioners
would be able to participate in meaning-making and seek relevant
applications of concepts and theories while expanding the frontiers
of knowledge. Moreover, the Community of Practice would be a platform
for integrating indigenous and tacit knowledge (IK) in OD, change
management and advisory practice with prevailing theories, concepts
and principles.
